CITADEL AND THE FORTIFIED CHURCH FROM HOMOROD

Fortified Church from Homorod surprises by the well preserved furniture and by the accessibility of the tower that offers a superb sight. At the foundation, you will find a room that represented the old choir of the church, on whose walls you distinguish the trace of the ancient paintings from the 14th century. Building of this church started around 1270, being carried out by the colonists who came here from the Flanders, the citadel’s walls being built at the end of the 14th century. This citadel has stood against the siege of the Tartars.
