A journey back in time: Countryside Life from Transylvania and Maramures

We propose you 2 weeks back in time in the lovely villages from Transylvania and Maramures, in the northwest part of Romania.

Superb landscapes, unspoiled nature, old villages with best kept traditions, accommodations in old traditional houses with all facilities, great organic food prepared by local ladies with all from their gardens.

Day 1 - We pick you up from the Airport in Bucharest. Transfer you at your hotel and easy walk in the Capital of Romania.
OVERNIGHT IN BUCHAREST (breakfast included)

Day 2,3 - After breakfast, departure for Transylvania. We'll have 2 nights accommodations in one of the most beautiful mountain villages from Romania, Fundatica. We'll explore the area and do Day Trip to Brasov Medieval Town. Also, we'll visit famous Bran Castle and the Bear Sanctuary from Zarnesti Village.
2 NIGHTS ACCOMMODATION IN FUNDATICA MOUNTAIN  VILLAGE (breakfast included)


Day 4,5,6 - We'll go deeper in Transylvania - We'll choose superb Malancrav Village as our base for exploring Saxon Villages from Transylvania with Fortified Churches and Fortresses. Day Trips to Sighisoara Citadel, Viscri, Crit, Biertan and Floresti Saxon Villages.
3 NIGHTS TRADITIONAL ACCOMMODATION IN MALANCRAV VILLAGE (breakfast and dinner included each day)

Day 7, 8,9,10 - Departure for Maramures.  In the afternoon, we'll reach one of the most traditional villages from Romania: Breb Village. We'll have accommodation in old wooden houses. Day Trips in Maramures: Mocanita Steam Train, Wooden Churches included in Unesco World Heritage, Merry Cemetery in Sapanta and beautiful landscapes in the area.

Day 11
Time to get back in Transylvania on a different route! On the way, we'll stop to visit Turda Salt Mine, one of the most impresive in the world. We'll have the accommodation in superb village of Rimetea.  OVERNIGHT IN RIMETEA VILLAGE ( breakfast and dinner included )

Day 12,13 Alma Vii Saxon Village with a 700 years old Fortified Church will be our base for the next 2 nights. Day Trip to Sibiu Medieval Town, in 2007 European Cultural Capital.
2 NIGHTS TRADITIONAL ACCOMMODATIONS IN ALMA VII VILLAGE (breakfast and dinner included)

Day 14 - Departure back to Bucharest, via amazing Transfagarasan Road. On the way to Bucharest, final stop at Curtea de Arges Monastery. In the evening reach Bucharest.
OVERNIGHT IN BUCHAREST (breakfast included)

Day 15 - transfer to the airport for your flight back home
