Touring Romania with George was an outstanding experience!

I absolutely loved having a private guide, private car and individualized itinerary based on our interests. George created an incredible itinerary for us incorporating many sites and activities.

We were able to spend extra time visiting traditional Saxon and Romanian villages in the countryside where we experienced traditional culture. We ate amazingly tasty farm-to-table meals at sheep stations and in village homes while in the countryside and delicious restaurants in larger cities. We were able to meet people doing traditional jobs in the traditional way such as wool milling, hat making, embroidery, farming, cheese making, wine making and an herbal remedies maker and healer. In addition to seeing the cultural sites we wanted to hike in the mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery (and get some exercise). George arranged for us to walk between several of the villages. Walking an ancient path into the woods on foot, passing shepherds tending sheep, foraging for wild raspberries and blackberries then emerging into another village was a joy and an experience I’ll always remember! Additionally, we summited the Rooster’s Crest in Maramures and picked wild huckleberries (the locals call them wild blue berries). Yum! Tasty food even on the paths and trails! George is organized, prompt, adventurous, kind, and funny but best of all his knowledge about the history, culture and people of Romania and surrounding countries. His knowledge and tales made our driving time very educational as well as entertaining. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed our trip in Romania was wonderful in every way. I can’t wait to go back in the winter and have George take my family on a winter ski tour!
