Day 1
Today we meet at your Hotel from Bucharest and start our adventure in Transylvania. We will drive 2 hours and we will already reach the Carpathian Mountains in Sinaia Mountain Town. This is the first stop to visit a top Romanian tourist site: Peles Palace, the former Summer Residence of the Royal Family of Romania and one of the most beautiful palaces from Europe. Sinaia is a lovely little town and we will have a nice walk in the beautiful park.

Day 2
It is time for our first mountain experience in the Carpathians. We drive 30 minutes to Busteni Town and we take the cable car to reach the top of the mountains. Once we are there, we will do a light hike on the Bucegi Plateau and head to an impressive rock formation: The Sphinx, which from a certain angle looks like a human head. Spectacular views of the mountains! After spending time there, we take the cable car back and head to Brasov Medieval City, one of the most beautiful cities of Romania.  We arrive in Brasov at noon and you will have plenty of time to discover the Old Town in a walking tour.

Day 3
Today, we have a full day to discover and explore the sites around Brasov. Our first stop is at the Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti, where you will observe brown bears and learn how they were saved from bad environments. Next stop: famous Bran Castle, best place in Transylvania to discover the true story of Dracula. Very close to Bran Castle, there is a remote mountain village which offers amazing alpine views over the Carpathians, a great opportunity for photos ! We have lunch and get back to Brasov in the afternoon. Enjoy Brasov OldvTown on your own.

Day 4
A top thing to do in Transylvania during winter is a husky sled ride. We will take you there, in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains where you will enjoy an hour and a half husky sled ride. Plenty of time to get friends with the huskies and experience the local plumb brandy "palinca" which will make you warm for sure ! After fun in the snow with the huskies, it is time to go deeper into Transylvania.  We take you to one of the most beautiful Saxon Village in Transylvania, Viscri.  Here you will learn about the old way of life of the saxons, how they arrived in Transylvania and what heritage they built. Time for visiting the Fortified Church from Viscri, as well ! You will also enjoy a delicious home cooked meal in a local lady's house - great experience ! The accommodation will be in an old saxon house, more than 150 years old, beautifully restored.

Day 5
A short ride and we arrive in one of the last inhabited citadels from Europe. Sighisoara Citadel is a small charming town included in the Unesco World Heritage. It is also the birthplace of the famous Vlad the Impaler, the source of inspiration for the Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. We have lunch in Sighisoara and head to Sibiu Medieval Town. On the way, we stop in Biertan Saxon Village where we visit the 500 years old Fortified Church, another Unesco World Heritage site. In the afternoon, we arrive in Sibiu and have a walking tour in the charming Old Town.

Day 6
Save the best for last, some say ! For sure, Transfagarasan Road, crossing the Carpathians, is a MUST for someone who visits Romania. We drive from Sibiu on a part of this famous road and leave the car. From there, we take the cable car on a fantastic ride over the mountains. Once we are on top, we have two options: have accommodation at the Ice Hotel for the brave ones. Or, have the accommodation at Balea Chalet. The Ice Hotel is a big igloo with 10 rooms, a bar and a restaurant, all built from ice. Definitely, it is an experience ! After we set in, we do a trekking through the 800 meters tunnel and we see the other side of the mountain for amazing views.

Day 7
It is time to get back to Bucharest. We drive on the beautiful Olt River Valley road and after 4-5 hours we are in the Capital. We will have a walking tour in Bucharest and say goodbye.
