Famous Castles of Romania - Private Guided Tour - 2 days
You`ll have the chance to visit 2 famous Castles: Peles Castle in Sinaia, one of the most beautiful in Europe and Bran Castle, famous because of Dracula Novel. Bonus: Brasov Medieval City
This two-day private tour in Transylvania is the perfect opportunity to discover the most famous area of Romania, even if you don't have much time to spend in our country. Certainly, it is the perfect opportunity to plan a future trip to Romania for a longer period.
Day 1
Our adventure begins in the morning when we pick you up from your hotel in Bucharest. It will be a long day, but you will surely enjoy it, discovering with us a beautiful part of Transylvania.
We leave Bucharest and, after two hours of driving, we arrive at Sinaia, a beautiful mountain town at the foot of the Carpathians. It was the place chosen by the first king of Romania, Carol the First, to build there the summer residence of the Romanian royal family.
You will learn the beautiful story of the foundation of the royal dynasty in Romania, how Prince Carol from Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family secretly came to our country and became the first king of Romania. You learn about the painful destiny of the royal family and of Romanian people when the communist regime was established after the second world war.
The first stop will be in Sinaia to visit the famous Peles Castle, one of the most modern and spectacular palaces in Europe from its beginnings. Construction began at the end of the 1800s and continued for almost 40 years. You will be amazed by the beauty of the palace and its works of art.
After having lunch in Sinaia, we go further in Transylvania to beautiful Medieval City of Brasov. Brasov is a top tourist destination in Romania and we will enjoy a walking tour in the Old Town of Brasov. We will walk the Council Square, on the old defensive system, on the pedestrian street and you will learn about the history of the guilds on which the city was built more than 800 years ago.
OVERNIGHT IN BRASOV
Day 2
After breakfast, we continue our adventure in Transylvania. Drive 40 minutes and we reach the famous Bran Castle. With a history of over 650 years, Bran Castle earned its fame thanks to the Irish writer Bram Stoker, the author of the famous “Dracula". Also known as Dracula's Castle, Bran Castle is located on the border between two historical provinces of Romania: Transylvania and Wallachia. Built on a high rock, Bran Castle is one of the main tourist attractions of Transylvania and Romania.
We will share with you the true history of the Castle related to the Teutonic Knights and Queen Maria of Romania, as well as the aura of mystery that surrounds it due to the name of Dracula. You will also learn about the famous Vlad the Impaler and his cruel torture method: impaling. If the weather is nice, we will take you to a truly spectacular place, in a small mountain village to admire wonderful views of the Carpathians.
Next stop will be Rasnov Fortress, a 800 years old citadel built by the Teutonic Knights. Enjoy beautiful views from the Fortress, have lunch and head back to Bucharest. The trip will take about 3 hours and we will return you to your hotel in Bucharest.
