Discover Traditions of Maramures!

Preserving the traditions is a proof of resistance in the face of the times, a sign of the nobility of our being, not losing the traditions that other European countries have lost for centuries.

Two weeks before Easter, the sons of Şurdeşti choose two friends, who will organize the entire celebration. They also choose the first man who starts farming that year and he will be celebrated. He must be a hardworking man, well seen in the village, and have children "so that the year will be fruitful".

It is a real show for the entire village with dancing and singing. The celebration lasts until late at night.
