Sighisoara Clock Tower

The Clock Tower from Sighisoara Citadel is the symbol of the city.

It is the largest of the defense towers and, until 1575, it was the headquarters of the City Hall, then it functioned as a court, and today is the History Museum. From above, you can see the wonderful panorama of the city.
The four turrets crowning its roof were the signs of the jurisdictional autonomy of the city which, through its Council, could apply capital punishment.

The seven linden figurines represent the days of the week, under embodiments from mythology and symbols from astronomy, astrology and alchemy.
