FORTIFIED CHURCH FROM CISNÄ‚DIOARA

The beginnings of the fortified church from Cisnădioara date from the 12th century, when here was a Romanic-Basilica. The church built over the basis of the old basilica has three ships, it is surrounded by an enclosure six meters height wall, and it is provided with disposal areas. Hot rocks or coal tar were cast against the invading enemies, a few rocks with this destination being now found in the fortification.
