"Bucharest communism tour"

I booked this tour with George after receiving a recommendation from another guide... and I was so glad I did

I booked this tour with George after receiving a recommendation from another guide who was not available and I was so glad I did. George was a young boy during the end of communism in Romania and it was so much more meaningful to hear the views and memories of someone who lived through it. I could visualize his family as they huddled secretly listening to radio broadcasts and feel the anguish of his mother worried as her older son was protesting with other students in the square as gunshots rang out. We wandered the streets Where the events took place and drove to other parts of the city to see the main sites.

George was informative and engaging. He was flexible with the time he spent at different areas depending on my interest and was full of advice about other places I should visit in Romania.

I then exchanged emails directly with George where he gave me a lot of detail on how the day would unfold. He was punctual when picking me up at my hotel and it was a pleasure to be driven around for the half day tour. I intend to use him for some more day trips as he was so professional but also easygoing.
