How is it to travel to Romania in July or August?

Many travelers are afraid to travel in July and August, hot summer months. Another reason people are avoiding traveling during summer months is the fact that the sites might be crowded. In many cases this is true, but exactly because of that we are trying to avoid the crowds here in Romania.

Romania is still somehow 'under the radar" when it comes to classic tourism. It is still not a well known travel destination which makes it less crowded and a more relaxed travel destination in Europe.

From mid July and August, the summer is here, but it is less hot than in many other countries such as Croatia, Spain, Greece or Italy. Another important fact is that the hottest part of Romania is the southern part, which is less developed from the tourism point of view. The most beautiful places to visit in Romania are in the center of Romania - Transylvania - and in the northern part - Maramures and Bucovina. The northern part of Romania is cooler than the southern part because of the Carpathian Mountains.
 

Only few well known touristic sites are crowded during that time of year: Bran Castle and Peles Palace. But we have a solution for these as well: visiting at the first hour when they open up to avoid the massive crowds.
