Sighisoara: Church of the Dominican Monastery

Sighisoara: Church of the Dominican Monastery

The Dominican Catholic Order built this imposing church located next to the Clock Tower, at the end of the 13th century. Today a reformed church, with a rather austere atmosphere, the place will surprise you by the beauty of the altar and of the organ, still functional. Next to this church, on the road to the beautifully styled palace which houses Sighisoara City Hall, it is the statue of Vlad the Impeller, as a memory of his birth here, in the family of Transylvania’s Military Governor, Vlad Dracul.
