Catholic Church from Sibiu

At the end of the 17th century, along with the Austrian troops that arrived in Sibiu, came the prominent representatives of Catholicism, the Jesuit monks.

Austrian officials and dignitaries settled in the city's Main Square and formed a small Catholic community. Their presence in the city and the free manifestation of faith imposed the construction of a Catholic church here. It was consecrated in 1733.
The church stands out for its early Viennese baroque style, with a simple exterior and an interior rich in decorative elements.
