Fabulous! Experiences beyond the tourist checklist!

We visited Bucharest, Transylvania, Bucovina and Maramures.

My husband and I have just returned from our 10 day private tour of Romania, and have the highest possible recommendation for this experience. George (guide and company owner) worked with us to develop a tailor-made itinerary adapted to our preferred travel style, and he did a wonderful job of offering us hotel selections that fit our taste and needs. We visited Bucharest, Transylvania, Bucovina and Maramures. The last was added at George's strong suggestion and it was an absolute delight. Along the way, George introduced us to experiences beyond the obvious tourist checklist: an artist who painstakingly decorates eggs with wax, not paint; hearty and tasty home cooked Romanian meals; a stay in a renovated traditional wooden house in Maramures being three good examples. George is knowledgeable, smart and flexible. Equally important, he was very good company -- an important aspect when you are driving long distances between destinations. If we return to Romania, we will definitely look forward to working with George again. He was fabulous!
