What to do in Bucharest: Day Trip from Bucharest to Mogosoaia Palace!

A day trip from Bucharest can be to Mogosoaia Palace. Located at a 40-minute drive from Bucharest, the Mogosoaia Palace is located in a beautiful park.

The construction of the palace began in 1698 and was completed in 1702. The palace belonged to voievod Constantin Brancoveanu, killed together with his sons in Constantinople in 1714 by the Ottomans.

Their bodies were thrown into the sea from where they were recovered and buried on an island. After this, the bones were brought to Bucharest and are at the Church of St. George the New.

The Ottomans confiscated the palace and turned it into an inn. Over the centuries it belonged to other boyar families, and after the second world war it was confiscated by the communist regime and left in ruins. Only in the 70s  it was restored, and today it is an excellent destination for a day trip from Bucharest.

We are waiting for you with private guided tours from Bucharest! Depending on how much time you have available, we can offer one-day trips from Bucharest to Brasov Medieval City, Peles and Bran castles or multi-day tours in Transylvania.
