Nicolae Ceausescu was for 25 years the President of Communist Romania.

Under him, Romania was one of the poorest countries in Europe with people starving. In this time, his insane ideas transformed Bucharest - he demolished an important part of the Romanian Capital in order to built "The House of the People, now Romanian Parliament, the second biggest building in the world.

While simple people of Romania were put in small apartments in soviet style blocks. he was living in great luxury in a Private Palace in Primaverii exclusive district of Bucharest. Recently, his Palace was opend for public.

This opulent Palace was buit in 2 years at the precise specifications of Ceausescu. The Palace has 80 rooms decorated throughout with Murano glass mirrors, chandeliers, colourful mosaics and other extravagant materials. Also, for the dictatorial couple to be relaxed, the Palace provided also an indoor
swimming pool, a cinema, an underground bunker and extended gardens where peacocks roam.
