Probably one of the most beautiful experiences a traveler can have in Romania is to participate in the making of hay stacks in Maramures.

Although they have the possibility to make haystacks with modern equipment, the locals of Maramures still prefer to make it with their hands. The hay will be used over the winter to feed the animals.
